Loading Sonik DriveHow it works
The same platform runs both sides of the marketplace — riders booking trips, and drivers earning more because their fuel costs disappear.
The operating model
Nothing here is speculative — each step is a piece of the business that already has an owner, a standard, and a cost attached to it.
Vehicles are purchased and certified to Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) standards before joining the fleet.
Every driver passes a background check, licensing review, and a dedicated safety training programme.
Riders book through the Sonik Drive app on iOS and Android, with live GPS tracking and in-app fare calculation.
A trip request is matched instantly to the nearest available Sonik driver, with real-time tracking for the full ride.
Fare is settled in-app: 85% goes straight to the driver, 15% supports the platform.
Vehicles return to proprietary solar-powered charging stations, with scheduled maintenance keeping the fleet road-ready.
The economics
Petrol is the one variable a Nigerian ride-hailing platform cannot control: when the pump price moves, every trip in the country re-prices with it. Sonik Drive charges its fleet at proprietary solar-powered stations, so the cost of moving a vehicle is tied to infrastructure the company owns rather than to the fuel market. Fares can stay fixed and transparent because the cost sitting underneath them is fixed too.

Abuja is the proving ground: one city, a certified pilot fleet, trained drivers and charging we own. Once those six steps run cleanly there, the same model is what we repeat city by city — a national footprint of four cities by Year 3, built on the same fixed-cost foundation rather than a new one each time.
