Sonik Drive Nigeria Limited is based in Abuja, FCT, and is part of SONIK Group — alongside sister company Sonik Homes & Shelters. One group, one engineering idea: infrastructure that runs independently.
Our mission
Every ride-hailing platform operating in Nigeria today runs on petrol or hybrid vehicles. That leaves the fare tied to the pump — and in 2025 a litre costs between ₦900 and ₦1,100. Riders absorb it as unpredictable pricing; drivers absorb it as the single biggest cost in their week.
Sonik Drive is built the other way round. The fleet is 100% electric from the first vehicle, running costs are around 65% lower than petrol, and cars charge at our own solar-powered stations rather than at a filling station. That is what lets fares stay transparent and fixed, and 85% of every fare go straight to the driver.
Our mission is the clean, reliable ride-hailing Nigeria does not have yet: certified vehicles, vetted and trained drivers, and a cost base that does not move every time the fuel price does. Abuja is the launch market, with four cities planned by Year 3.

Why now
This is not a bet on where mobility goes in a decade — it is a reading of the market as it stands. Fuel is expensive and volatile, ride-hailing demand is growing at a fast clip, and no operator in Nigeria has been built EV-native.

Sustainability
An electric fleet only counts for so much if the electricity behind it comes from somewhere dirty. Sonik Drive closes that loop: the vehicles are electric, and the charging stations they return to are our own solar-powered sites — so the trip is clean at the wheel and at the plug. It is the same engineering thinking that runs through the wider group.
The fleet is 100% electric, so no trip on the platform burns petrol or emits at the tailpipe. That holds for the first ride and every ride after it — it is how the company is built, not a target to work towards.
Vehicles return to Sonik Drive's proprietary solar-powered charging stations, so the electricity behind each trip is renewable too. The fleet isn't moving emissions from the road onto the grid — it removes them from the journey.
Every vehicle is certified to Federal Road Safety Corps standards before it joins the fleet and kept on scheduled maintenance afterwards, so cars stay road-ready and stay in service longer.

Sonik Drive Nigeria Limited is one half of SONIK Group. The other is Sonik Homes & Shelters, an off-grid eco-estate developer in Abuja building self-sustaining homes — estates designed to generate and manage their own power rather than depend on a grid that may not be there.
Different products, same idea: infrastructure that runs independently. A home that makes its own power and a vehicle that charges from the sun are the same answer to the same problem — Nigerian services should not be hostage to a supply chain that keeps failing them.
